Questions, answered plainly.
01 What do I install on the iPhone?
Nothing. No app, no developer mode, no jailbreak. The Mac reads the screen through the cable and appears to the iPhone as a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. You switch on a few accessibility settings once, and the app shows you which.
02 Which iPhones work?
We have tested an iPhone 14 Pro and an iPhone 12, both on iOS 27. We expect iPhone 11 and later to work and are testing more models before we publish a list.
iPhones that stop at iOS 16 or earlier (iPhone X, iPhone 8 and older) are not supported.
03 What do I need besides the iPhone?
A Mac on macOS 14 or later, the iPhone's cable, and Bluetooth switched on. There is no Windows version yet, and Tefo does not work with Android phones.
04 Which AI does the work?
With Connect, your own. Tefo gives an AI app that supports MCP, such as Claude, a set of tools: look at the screen, tap, scroll, type. The model and its cost stay with your AI provider.
Cloud, which comes later, adds Tefo's own AI, so you can ask for a task in the Tefo app without setting up anything else.
05 Where do my screenshots go?
With Connect, a screenshot goes to the AI app you connected and nowhere else. Tefo passes it along and does not keep it.
With Cloud, Tefo's AI looks at the screen to do the task. Screens are saved only if you opt in to help improve the product, and you can opt out again.
06 What if the AI taps the wrong thing?
You watch every move on the Mac as it happens. Press Pause and it stops. After a pause only you can hand the phone back.
Tefo does not tap when it cannot see the screen. Passwords, Face ID, payment confirmations and verification codes are handed back to you. An AI can still get things wrong, so stay nearby for anything you could not undo.
07 How fast is it?
About as fast as a person. It types around five keys a second and waits for the screen to settle before the next move. That is on purpose.
08 Can I still use my phone?
While the iPhone is plugged in and not paused, the AI has it. Pause in the app or pull the cable and the phone is yours again.
09 Can I watch from somewhere else?
Today you watch on the Mac the iPhone is plugged into. Watching and taking over from a browser on another computer is planned.
10 Can I run many phones with it?
No. Tefo is for your own phone. We do not build it for phone farms or bulk accounts.
